The Career Pivot

We hear this phrase a lot, but what does it really mean? It’s not just switching industries or roles; it’s a fundamental shift in the direction of your professional life. And the most successful pivots? They're not just about a new title or a bigger paycheck. They're about aligning your work with what you truly value.
I’ve seen too many people make career pivots based on external factors alone—a hot industry, a trendy new job, or what everyone else is doing. The result is often a temporary high followed by a deeper sense of misalignment.
The key to a successful, sustainable career pivot is to make it a values-driven pivot. Before you make your next big move, ask yourself:
What are my core values?
How did my previous role fail to align with these values?
How will this new role or industry allow me to live my values every day?
A career pivot is one of the most powerful opportunities you have to build a life you love, not just a career you tolerate. It's about moving toward a professional life that feels authentic and deeply meaningful to you.
Don't just chase the next opportunity; chase your values. The career you're truly meant for is waiting for you at the intersection of your skills and your deepest beliefs.
